Report: Sabres, Eichel deal could be for 8-year max

With all apologies to the still-unsigned Zemgus Girgensons, the biggest story worth watching this summer for Buffalo Sabres fans is the negotiations for a contract extension with the team’s franchise player – Jack Eichel.

Today, reports from both the AP and Sportsnet stated that the two sides have been working on a new deal for about a month now, and that the extension could potentially be for the NHL maximum of eight years.
