Buffalo Sabres’ Thomas Vanek Out of Running for ‘NHL 14′ Cover

The Buffalo Sabres' Thomas Vanek has, for the second straight year, been knocked out of the voting for the cover of EA Sports' NHL video game.
 
Vanek was one of 16 players who failed to make the second round of voting for the "NHL '14" cover. The first round saw one player from each team and two wild cards in one pool.

The top 16 vote-getters were seeded based on first-round votes received and bracketed. Voting will continue until the cover athlete is unveiled June 3.
