Buffalo Sabres interim head coach Ron Rolston won his first career NHL game Tuesday and will go for his first career win streak tonight, when the Sabres take on the Florida Panthers at 7:30 pm.

Both teams are stuck near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, with the Panthers in the No. 13 seed, while Buffalo holds the last place spot. The teams last met Feb. 3, when Florida erased a two-goal deficit and beat the Sabres 4-3. Former Sabre Brian Campbell scored the game winning goal in that game.

Thomas Vanek continues to be a force for Buffalo, leading the team in goals, assists and of course points. Cody Hodgson and Jason Pominville are right behind Vanek respectively in those categories as well. The problem for the Sabres has been secondary scoring and defense. Buffalo hopes they are closer to solving their defensive issues as Tyler Myers played well in the team's win against Tampa Bay Tuesday. Myers scored the game-winning goal against the Lightning, and the team hopes he can build off of that performance.

The Sabres will be without Alexander Sulzer and Ville Leino who remain on injured reserve, and Jordan Leopold is also not expected to play with an upper body injury. There has been no word on whether Ryan Miller will get the start again or not. Miller has started all but two games for Buffalo and has kept the Sabres in most of their games while the team has struggled. Backup goaltender Jhonas Enroth has struggled himself, as he hasn't won a start since Nov. 26 of 2011.
