The Buffalo Sabres added a goal to extend their lead to 3-1 in the second period, just to give up two goals late in the frame and will go into the second intermission tied 3-3.
Alexander Sulzer scored from the point to give Buffalo the 3-1 edge, but George Parros scored on his first shift back from fighting John Scott on a mini odd-man rush. The Sabres then gave up another late goal to Peter Mueller after an odd bounce off of the back wall came back to Drew Shore. Shore's shot was stopped by Ryan Miller, but Mueller buried the rebound.
The Sabres had plenty of chances to put the game away in the second period, but they were unable to convert and now must dig deep to come away with a much needed win.
