The Rochester Americans dropped two of three games in a busy recent stretch that saw them lace up their skates three times in four nights.

The Amerks began the stretch Wednesday morning with a 4-1 road win at Hamilton. The Amerks never trailed, with Nick Rarnasky opening the scoring just 2:27 into the game. Rochester made it 2-0 in the second period thanks to Brian Flynn, who netted his third goal in two games. Jerome Gauthier-Leduc scored his first pro goal later in the second, with T.J. Brennan making the score 4-0 entering the locker room, scoring his team-best seventh tally of the year.

David Leggio stopped 26 of 27 shots for the win, losing his shutout with only 2:25 left in the game. Kevin Porter added two assists.

The Amerks dropped game two of the stretch Friday at home, as Abbotsford beat them 3-2. Phil Varone gave Rochester the early 1-0 lead, but the Heat scored two straight before the Amerks tied it in the third period thanks to a power play goal from Brayden McNabb. Paul Byron scored the game-winner for Abbotsford midway through the stanza, though, spoiling the home debut of rookie Amerks goalie Connon Knapp and giving the league-leading Heat the win.

Rochester headed south for the finale of the three-game run to Binghamton, where they fell to the Senators, 3-2. Porter and Evan Rankin scored for Rochester, which led early and tied the game in the second before a late Sens goal. Rochester outshot Binghamton 51-36, but Robin Lehner stopped 49 shots for the Senators. Leggio stopped 33 shots in the loss.

Rochester is now 8-6-1 on the year, good four 17 points and a third-place tie with Toronto in the AHL North Division. The Amerks now have nearly a week off before hosting the Albany Devils at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 23.
