NHLPA representative Steve Fehr told the Associate Press that a new CBA between them and the NHL could be reached quickly once the two sides break through current barriers, Woodtv.com reports.

Fehr said, while speaking at the Prime Time Sports Management Conference, that there are three topics that remain; split of money, player contract rules and who is responsible to pay for damages caused by the lockout.

While the two sides have been hard at work, meeting for seven of the last nine days, little has been reported as far as progress is concerned. Hopefully, for everyone involved with the league, a deal can be done soon and hockey could begin in December.
