T.J. Brennan, Kevin Porter, Phil Varone and Marcus Foligno scored for the Amerks, who got 30 saves from David Leggio for the win. Brennan also had an assist.
The Amerks then traveled to Hershey, Pa., where they claimed a wild 8-7 win over the Bears. Rochester overcame a pair of three-goal deficits to win, led by Foligno's two goals and two assists.
Rochester trailed by 4-1 and then 5-2 in the second period but scored six goals in the final 28 minutes. Brennan had two goals and an assist, while Cody Hodgson had three assists. Also scoring were Mark Mancari, Rick Schofield, Evan Rankin and Luke Adam. Leggio got the win with 32 saves.
With the wins, Rochester improved to 3-2-0-0 on the year, good for six points and a second-place tie in the AHL North Division. The Amerks are one point behind the Abbotsford Heat.
